Part of being Human is helping others: Environmental Activist

I came across a man named Zubair Farooq Dadi. He is a well know social and environmental activist, someone who is very passionate when it comes to helping the people of Pakistan. Starting from an early age realizing that how a little effort of a person can bring a drastic change to our environment. He has worked on numerous projects for the welfare of society from installing solar panels in rural areas to renting out suction pumps to making sure people have food to eat.

The reason how, I got to know him is during Covid-19 days. An elder man in Karachi was forced to sell stationary on street due to financial crisis. However, due to social media the video went virual and three Pakistani men went looking for him. Zubair Farooq Dadi was one of the men who saved this elder man from selling stationary in Covid days.

About a month ago, he installed some solar powered water systems for agriculture in Thar. The results can be seen on ground, the desert is fertile. He believes, if we provide the people living in Thar, underground water for farming, it can bring huge economic benefits and improve the standard of living for people living there. Rather than just giving charity, we should focus on providing opportunities to poor people to earn themselves which will eventually make our country prosper.

He will soon be constructing a washroom for ladies in Thar, as the locals told him the difficulties the females face every day.

Due to the recent rain situation in Karachi, he helped pumping out water from various areas with the help of his team.

Every month he collects donations and visits district areas of Sindh to distribute Ration bags (food) to underprivileged people. There are a lot of people who gather so sometimes, it’s difficult for him to manage that’s why he gathers some social workers and volunteers as students to join his team to help him distribute the ration to the deserving underprivileged families and children.

As inspiring as he is for all of us to on the other hand he is very kind enough to step out of his own shoes and help those who are in need. Keeping his own work aside working for people who can’t help themselves. We all need more people like them who care about our environment who care about the wellbeing of people.
